Becoming psychologically bulletproof means you have nothing to hide. It means you have no ghosts in your closet. It means your past is nothing to be ashamed of, and your future is nothing to be embarrassed about. What it really means, is that you’re progressively living your life by choice, not out of fear.
Benjamin P. Hardy
You have to choose what you want to do and who you want to be. You have to manage your mind and your time. You can’t continue to justify living beneath your dreams. You have to really want it. Because once you do, nothing will be able to stop you from having it. You have to let go of your bad habits. You have to re-arrange your priorities. You have to say “No” more. You need to put first things first, every single day. You have to pay the price.
If you’re willing to pay the price, you can have absolutely anything you want.
In looking for people to hire, look for three qualities: Integrity, Intelligence, and Energy. And if they don’t have the first one, the other two will kill you.
My real power comes from doing the right things for the rights reasons, not from my title or the ability to tell others what to do.
Check The Ego.
It’s natural for anyone in a leadership position to blame subordinate leaders and direct reports when something goes wrong. Our egos don’t like to take blame. But it’s on us as leaders to see where we failed to communicate effectively and help our troops clearly understand what their roles and responsibilities are and how their actions impact the bigger strategic picture.
Problems are a constant in life.
To be happy we need something to solve. Happiness is therefore a form of action. Happiness is a constant work-in-progress, because solving problems is a constant work-in-progress. The solutions to today’s problems will lay the foundation for tomorrow’s problems, and so on. True happiness occurs only when you find the problems you enjoy having and enjoy solving. Choose your struggle.
A young man asked his grandfather why life had to be so difficult sometimes.
Grandfather says this: Being strong means taking one more step towards the top of the hill, no matter how weary you may be. It means letting the tears flow through the grief; it means to keep looking for the answer though the darkness if despair is all around. It means the weakest step toward the top of the hill, toward sunrise, toward hope, is stronger than the fiercest storm.
If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive, and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done.
