Live your passion. What does that mean, anyway? It means that when you get up for work every morning, every single morning, you are pumped because you get to talk about or work with or do the thing that interests you the most in the world. You don’t live for vacations because you don’t need a break from what you’re doing—working, playing, and relaxing are one and the same. You don’t even pay attention to how many hours you’re working because to you, it’s not really work. You’re making money, but you’d do whatever it is you’re doing for free.
The keys to life are running and reading. When you’re running, there’s a little person that talks to you and says, “Oh I’m tired. My lung’s about to pop. I’m so hurt. There’s no way I can possibly continue.” You want to quit. If you learn how to defeat that person when you’re running. You will know how to not quit when things get hard in your life. For reading: there have been gazillions of people that have lived before all of us. There’s no new problem you could have–with your parents, with school, with a bully. There’s no new problem that someone hasn’t already had and written about it in a book.
Relationships are all there is. Everything in the universe only exists because it is relationship to everything else. Nothing exists in isolation. We have to stop pretending we are individuals that can go it alone.
Civilize the mind but make savage the body.
Let your mind be man – let it think, let it know, let it learn, and let it grow. And let you body be animal – unafraid to attack, unafraid to protect, unafraid to stand up for itself, and unafraid to do its own thing.
There are two kinds of people in the world. The person who walks into a room & says, ‘Here I am,’ and the person who says, ‘There you are.’
Selfish vs. Unselfish.
